Living Longer Living Stronger – Sentience PT

Living Longer Living Stronger

  • Are you over 50?
  • Would you like to enjoy a more independent and active lifestyle, now and into the future?
  • Do you want to improve your golf, tennis or bowls game, walk or cycle faster or further?
  • Would you like to meet other people your own age in a supportive, friendly environment?

If you answered 'yes' to any of the above questions, you should consider strength training.

What is strength training?

Strength training (or resistance or weight training as it is sometimes called) involves use of weights to build muscle strength and endurance. To be effective, the program must be progressive – as you become stronger, we encourage you to increase the weights you are using.

Strength training is particularly important for older people. As we age, we lose muscle mass and bone density, resulting in the much of the loss of function we associate with getting older.

The LLLS (Living Longer Living Stronger™) program can assist you in:

  • Regaining you independence and ability to do day-to-day tasks: shopping, playing with grandchildren, gardening, getting out of chairs and climbing stairs
  • Improved posture, balance, coordination and flexibility
  • Feeling better about yourself – improved confidence & self esteem
  • Prevention/management of conditions such as arthritis, osteoporosis, type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease

What is special about Living Longer Living Stronger™?

Our Living Longer Living Stronger™ programmes provide strength training specifically designed to meet the needs of older people, including:

  • Initial and ongoing assessments so your program can be tailored to your specific needs and abilities
  • Fully qualified and committed instructors
  • A fully supervised safe and supportive environment
  • A fun and social environment where new friends are made

Session Times: Monday to Friday 11am and 3pm Cost: $5 per class

What our clients have to say about our Living Longer Living Stronger Program

Two years ago through illness and inactivity I found myself unable to ordinary tasks. I have been attending classes at Sentience PT since March of 2009. The difference in my strength and attitude has been amazing. I am in my 70’s, have a heart condition but with exercises and knowing what I can do and can’t do has been an inspiration for me. Also our class is great with the support and encouragement of the trainers. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to keep in maintaining good health in such a happy atmosphere.

Living Longer Living Stronger has given me a new lease of life. I look forward to my sessions every Monday and Wednesday. I have made new friends who inspire me to do better and push myself. Thanks must go to all the trainers for their encouraging words.

Encouraging trainers help to keep you going. I have been made to feel comfortable in coming to an experience I had not been in before. Thank you.
